The Saab J 35 Draken was the world’s first series-production military aircraft featuring a double-delta wing design which was a groundbreaking innovation at the time. Its unique wings made the Draken also to become the first aircraft capable of performing the iconic Cobra maneuver. Your tag was cut from an access panel removed from J 35 Draken s/n: 35519, an F-2 variant developed for air-to-air combat. Delivered to the Swedish Air Force in 1968, the 35519 received the tactical number 19, painted on its tail. It spent most of its service with the test unit Försökscentralen until it was retired and placed at Såtenäs Air Base, where it was last documented in 2015 and likely scrapped shortly afterwards. In early 2025, FIGHTERTAGS discovered three panels from 35519. To celebrate its first year in business, it transformed them into tags—preserving the legacy of this truly unique aviation marvel.
