Plain, thin tags were cut from the plain sections of the wing panel of Messerschmitt Bf 110D-3, WNr. 4281, which was lost in combat on 2 September 1942 during the Battle of Stalingrad.
These tags were made from an aluminum sheet only 0.3 mm (0.012 inch) thick! While almost no paint remains on the front faces of the tags, all of them retain varying amounts of RLM 02 Grey paint on their reverse sides.
Additional information:
Dimensions: approx. 88 mm x 37 mm (3.46″ x 1.45″)
